Infant and child prices

Getting the best value for money when you’re travelling with children

Hotels and apartments across Europe have differing approaches to child pricing. Please bear in the mind the following when searching for prices and availability:

Unless otherwise stated, reductions are based on a child/children sharing a room with a minimum of two full fare paying passengers. Reduced price places are limited to two per booking.

Children's ages are:

  • 2-11 for hotels, apart-hotels, Crystal-run hotels and chalets
  • 2-15 years for self-catering apartments

Children who get a free or reduced place won't count towards a group reduction.

When calculating supplements, children only qualify as full fare-paying passengers in European chalets and Crystal-run hotels. If you're staying elsewhere then you should be aware that children won't count when calculating under-occupancy or sharing supplements.

Infants are classed as children under 2 years of age on the day of return travel to the UK. For infants there is an administration charge of £39 for Europe, provided that no flight, coach or train seat is used. We will need to request a cot for you, please advise at the time of booking, this may come at a charge. Hotels may charge for food for infants and this will be paid directly.

Free and reduced price children do not count towards the occupancy in the car on self-drive holidays.
