    Walking

    Kitzbühel's a true walker's paradise with over 1000km of well-marked hiking trails ranging from the energetic climb to the top of the Kitzbüheler Horn to the more gentle amble to Lake Schwarzsee.

    From the mountain village of Jochberg there's an easy walk to the impressive Sintersbach waterfall and at Hintenbachalm, you can follow a nature trail, showcasing the flora and fauna of the region.

    Culture

    You can travel through Kitzbuhel's history in the local museam, or just take in the medieval architecture with a stroll around town. At the same time, soak up the elegance of this charming centre - window shopping, enjoying 'kaffee und kuchen' or trotting through the cobbled streets in a horse drawn carriage.

    There are also two churches well worth a visit - the 14th Century Liebfrauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) and the baroque St. Andreas Parish Church for those with an interest in religious frescoes.

    It's no wonder Kitzbühel's a haven for sports fanatics with its varied terrain. In the winter, it's famed for skiing, but there's loads of exhilarating stuff to get your adrenaline pumping in the summer months too.

    • Hornpark Treetop Adventure: This brilliant high ropes course offers 7 zip lines and 60 stations ranging from 2-15m above the ground. Loads of great activities including an exhilarating 120m flying fox ride over the lake.
    • Tandem paragliding: Get a unique view of the Kitzbüheler Alps - from 1700m up. Cruise through the clouds, or ask your pilot for some acrobatics, then make like a bird and glide back down to earth.
    • Mountain biking: Kitzbühel is a mecca for mountain bikers with over 800km of trails throughout the area. Whether you're after a nice family outing or a challenging all-day ride, there are paths to suit everyone.
