Local culture: Salzburg is one of the most beautiful cities in central Europe. Explore the maze filled narrow streets which filtered of the Getreidegasse, the famous street of wrought iron signs. The Mirabell Palace is famous for it's gardens and perfect for a picnic or just people watching. Not to be missed is the stunning cathedral and views from the Hohensalzburg Fortress are the best in the city. Visit the Hellbrunn Palace on the outskirts of the city and see the vast gardens with playful water fountains, great on a hot summers day!

Salzburg is the perfect city to explore by foot as most of the sights can be found in and around the charming old town. Hiring a bike is a great way to explore a little further afield. Salzburg is also served by a very reliable public transport system.

Travel
Onward transfers to second centre will be by coach from Salzburg airport. You will be required to pay for taxis to/from the airport and your chosen Salzburg hotel. This cost will be refunded to you by our staff at Salzburg airport on your return from your Salzburg hotel. Salzburg can be taken as the first or last part of your holiday, flights must be to and from Salzburg.Important information

Musical Sights
Salzburg hosts musical events of the highest calibre throughout the summer. Festivals include the Summer Festival, Palace Concerts, Fortress Concerts and much more. Two very popular attractions are:
Sound of Music Tour (4.5 hrs):
A wonderful tour which starts with breathtaking views of the landscape where the opening scenes were filmed. Relax and listen to the original Sound of Music soundtrack as you visit the key sites. The trip includes the Mirabell gardens where Maria and the children danced around the fountain singing Do-Re-Mi, Leopoldskron Castle (used as the von Trapp family home), Hellbrunn castle with the glass pavilion, Nonnberg Abbey, where Maria was a novice as well as the wedding church at Mondsee.
Tour departs daily at 9.30am and 2pm.
Mozart Dinner Concert:
This magical evening is set in the stylish surroundings of the historic Baroque Hall in Europe's oldest restaurant, Stiftskeller St. Peter. During a candlelit three course dinner you will enjoy some of Mozart's most popular compositions. The members of the 'Amadeus Consort', two opera singers and five musicians in historical costumes, perform movements from 'A Little Night Melody' as well as arias and duets from 'The Magic Flute', 'Don Giovanni' and 'The Marriage of Figaro'. Let yourself be enchanted!
