  • So what's it like?

    Walking

    There are numerous marked walking routes around St Anton and Lech, leading you into some truly breathtaking countryside full of majestic mountains, Alpine meadows, forests, streams and crystal-clear lakes. The whole Arlberg area is a walker’s paradise, with a network of over 500km of kilometres of paths. The routes vary from hour long strolls to three-day hikes with overnight stops. To really get the most out of your time in the mountains and see them in a whole new light join one of the local guides.

    Why not try…

    • the high-Alpine flower hike – a 10 hour hike on which you’ll see numerous rare and beautiful plants that only grow above 2,000m
    • seeking out some of the life-size cast iron human figures by British sculptor Anthony Gormley in the mountains above Lech
    • grab your summer card from the Tourist Office and get access to the summer lifts. Cards and some lifts available from mid June

    The Arlberg region is a real playground for sporty types, with a huge choice of activities including rafting, canyoning, mountain biking, climbing, fishing, paragliding, tennis and Nordic walking. Both St. Anton and Lech even have their own golf courses. The arl.rock sports centre offers a wealth of indoor options too, including many different types of climbing, squash, bowling and volleyball.

    If that all sounds a bit too intense, the ARLBERG-well.com spa in St Anton is worth a visit, with its heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, waterfalls and numerous treatments and relaxation rooms. If you want to get close to nature there’s a hide built into the hillside near Lech from where you can watch wild animals feeding.
