    Culture

The seat of power for the far-reaching Austrian Empire, Vienna retains an impressive array of historic palaces and monuments – none more so than the Baroque splendour of the Schönbrunn Palace and gardens. Take the Grand Tour to marvel at frescoed ceilings and crystal chandeliers in the ceremonial rooms, before taking a tram or horse drawn carriage around the Ringstrasse to explore the main cultural attractions including the Natural History Museum, the impressive Town Hall, Viennese Opera House, Parliament building and the University.

Head towards the city centre and discover the Imperial Hofburg Palace – home of the Federal President, the Austrian crown jewels and the magnificent Spanish Riding School - well worth a day of your time. Climb up 343 steps to the tower room in St. Stephen's Cathedral for the best views of the city from this stunning 12th century Gothic Cathedral.

Vienna is a city exploding with culture and attractions. And getting your hands on a Vienna card will give you use of public transport and entrance discounts for 72 hours to help you experience even more.
