So what's it like?
With a wide sheltered bay, Garda enjoys an idyllic position on the eastern edge of Lake Garda. A long traffic-free promenade lies beside the lake with colourful cafés, open-air restaurants and many bars and boutiques. At night the promenade is thronged with strollers as restaurants, romantic candlelit bars and ice cream parlours become the focus of life.

Local culture
Weddings
The centrepiece of the town is the Venetian Palazzo del Capitano, once at the heart of a bustling harbour, and now in the main piazza on the lakefront. In honour of Garda's roots as a fishing port, the town holds a Sardine festival every July. The market comes to town on Fridays, pay a visit to snap up some Italian leather or gourmet delicacies without breaking the bank. The parish church, Santa Maria Assunta is also worth a visit, not least to see the 16th century cloisters shielding ancient frescoes from the elements.
Take the stress out of your special day and let us organise everything. Weddings can take place in the town hall in Garda or in the nearby resort of Torri del Benaco where the ceremony can be held in various locations within the castle. Short breaks
If you've not got time for a week long holiday, or just fancy a few extra days away, then our short breaks are the perfect choice. 3 and 4 night short breaks are available in Garda at the Hotel La Perla, Hotel Sole and Hotel Terminus.
Evening atmosphere
Garda awakens at night and offers a great selection of lively bars, delicious restaurants and tasty ice cream parlours. The action is centred around the lake front and the maze of narrow streets and squares found behind. If you are looking for somewhere special for dinner, take a trip to 'La Cross' Osteria for taste of Veronese cuisine amongst the locals.Getting about
A pleasant, traffic-free, 3km walk along the lakeside links the villages of Garda and Bardolino. There is a fast and frequent ferry service linking Garda with other resorts.
Short Breaks
If you want to get away from it all, but can't spare seven days, we have three and four night short breaks available in Garda at the Hotel La Perla, Hotel Sole and Hotel Terminus.
Twin centre suggestion
Why not combine a stay at the Hotel La Perla in Garda with a stay at the Hotel Garda in Riva, a fantastic way to experience the contrasts between the northern and southern ends of Lake Garda. Transfer to your second centre is by coach or minibus and may be via Verona Airport.
