Short breaks
Take a stroll down the palm lined promenades and look out over the crystal clear lake to the lush green mountains and splendid villas surrounding the lake. Absorb the Mediterranean and cosmopolitan feel of Italy’s second largest lake. The splendid villas of Stresa have been greeting Europe’s high society since the 18th century. A short boat ride from the main land, this lake archipelago is well worth visiting. As the name suggests Isola Bella is quite beautiful, join the white peacocks and stroll through the well kept gardens before entering the splendour of the palace. Inside, step back in time and uncover sumptuous rooms, ornate furniture and classic paintings.
If you've not got time for a week long holiday, or just fancy a few extra days away, then our short breaks are the perfect choice. 3 and 4 night short breaks are available in Lake Maggiore at the Hotel Beau Rivage and Hotel Simplon, Baverno and the Hotel Milan Speranza au Lac, Stresa. Evening atmosphere
A lively atmosphere makes the water front the centre of evening activity, you'll find pavement cafes, wine & cocktail bars and nightclubs. As is popular in Italy, lots of the socialising gets done on the street as locals promenade along the lake front, it truly is a people watching paradise. We recommend devouring an oversized ice cream sundae in one of the many cafes that line the main square.Getting about
There are lake ferries to Baveno and Stresa and the Borromean Islands. Many buses can be caught from the main Verbania station. There is also a cable car and a mountain railway station in the local area.
Short Breaks
If you want to get away from it all, but can't spare seven days, we have three and four night short breaks available on Lake Maggiore at the Hotel Beau Rivage and Hotel Simplon, Baverno and the Hotel Milan Speranza, Stresa.
