So what's it like?
Lazise is one of the most picturesque resorts on Lake Garda with a lengthy history and lots of typical Italian charm. Surrounded by ancient walls, the town is dominated by the magnificent 14th century castle. Life revolves around the beautiful medieval square, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, and lots of cafes, bars and restaurants line the streets around the little port. There are plenty of shops of all sorts here; from handicrafts and local produce to the most famous of Italian brand names. Lazise is also very well placed for access to Gardaland and the Canevaworld water park.

Short breaks
Lazise is a gorgeous town steeped in centuries of history. From humble beginnings as a group of stilt houses, through clashing Roman, Venetian and Austrian rule as a poor town of fisherman and farmers. The town has now developed into one of the most picturesque and captivating highlights on the Lake. Track the progression of the town through the diverse architecture as you explore everything from the grand Piazza Emmanuele to tiny, winding, cobbled streets. Discover the Romaneque church of San Niccolo and appreciate Giotto frescoes dating back to the 12th century. Try to figure out how San Martino church was rebuilt in neoclassical style in the 18th century, in the place of the church of San Zeno dating back to the 15th century without leaving any ruins!
