Relax and discover
Fun on the water: Cruise on either of the lakes - Brienz for waterfalls and Thun for castles. There are also plenty of active watersports around the lake - sea kayaking is a great way to explore Lake Brienz and white water rafting is a popular activity. As is canyoning - discover canyon worlds as you launch into foaming pools, abseil down waterfalls and slide down natural waterslides.
Walking: At the base of the Lauterbrunnen valley Interlaken is close to many walking opportunities. For gentle strolls the lakes are perfect. For more adventurous walking the Jungfrau region has over 500km of marked trails.
Lakeside villages: We also feature lakeside hotels in the villages of Bönigen and Iseltwlad on Lake Brienz, and on Lake Thun the Hotel Hilterfingen. Local culture: Festivals and open air events are a big thing in Interlaken. In the summer months the hills are alive with the sound of yodelling, rock and country music.
Discover Swiss culture at the Ballenburg open air museum. Travel through time as you visit buildings from different eras, all have been painstakingly taken down and rebuilt.
By rail: The train transfer from Geneva showcases the scenery of Switzerland; Lake Geneva, vineyard clad hills, alpine meadows and snow capped peaks. From Zurich the journey is shorter, it also passes through spectacular Swiss scenery.

Highlights
Take a fabulous cogwheel trip to the "Top of Europe" at the Jungfraujoch. Departing from Interlaken, this trip will take you up to Kleine Scheidegg at 2061m, situated at the foot of the infamous north face of the Eiger, and starting point for many perilous ascents. From here you will be taken inside the Eiger, where massive windows carved into the rock give a unique view across the region. Finally you will arrive at the highest railway station in Europe, at the Jungfraujoch, at a staggering 3464m above sea level. Here you will find an Ice Palace, restaurant and the Sphinx Observation Terrace from where you can look across the 22km Aletsch Glacier. There's also a ski and snowboard park, sled rides and snow discs to be enjoyed for a wonderful day out.
